BAPTISM AT BASE CHURCH
Baptism is one of the most meaningful steps a follower of Jesus can take. It is a public declaration of the new life we have received through the grace of God. At Base Church, baptisms take place every fourth Sunday of the month. In December, our baptism service will be held on December 14.
Baptism is for anyone who has made the decision to follow Jesus and wants to publicly declare their faith.
Baptism is an outward sign of what God has already accomplished in the heart of a believer. Through baptism, we identify with the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. Going under the water symbolizes that our old self has been crucified and buried with Christ. Coming out of the water represents being raised to new life in him. This step communicates our desire to live under his lordship, by his grace and for his glory.
Acts 2:38, 10:47 to 48, Matthew 28:19, Romans 6:1 to 11, Galatians 2:20
